I got an email from my friend M this morning with pictures of a new Dove family who has taken up residence in their hanging basket of petunias.
According to M, it is not the same family that nested in the planter earlier this summer – “It’s not them, and I don’t think their offspring would be ready yet”
"These guys are young little critters. And about 4 times as skittish. The turkey baster is being applied yet again (for watering the plant), but not up to the point where I can water the entire plant without the bird flying away briefly."
an't wait to see the pictures when they hatch.
Posted by: Vito at August 25, 2005 02:09 PMAt least those eggs will hatch. I laugh at my mum's Cockatiel who lays unfertilised eggs and she sits on them thinking they will hatch. Then she fights with them and kicks them around the cage until they break.

Posted by: Joe at August 23, 2005 02:01 PMWe had a dove family that nested in the tree right outside our picture window. It was so cool to see the babies once they hatched and we could watch up close all the time without bothering them.
