When Don came home from playing tennis this morning, he had a copy of the Philadelphia Sunday Paper. He told me to look at page 4 in the Neighbors section.
There it was! The picture I sent them right after our big snow storm this year – I loved the picture, and sent it to them on a whim, and I guess they liked it too!
All's Quiet After the Storm
But I guess I won’t give up my day job.

We have 3 generations of bloggers in our family. I think that’s really great.
Blogging is certainly an easy way for us to keep in touch with family members that aren’t really available for a cup of coffee and a nice long chat.
We also have 3 generations of lurkers in our family.

When I was a child, all of the kids in our neighborhood would play outdoors from morning till the first street light came on, only going indoors for a meal and other necessary trips.
We were outdoors whenever we could be.
We played a lots of different games, and had great fun.
Jacks, Red Rover, hide-n-seek, jump rope, simon says, dodge ball. I can't think of any more, but there were so many.
I would like to see today’s kids enjoying a bit of old fashioned fun.

About a year and a half ago, we planted Oscar’s tree, a redbud tree.
This is the second year it has bloomed in our yard.
Thanks Oscar.

I’m thinking that Spring is actually here in Bucks County, Pa.
I’ve gone to work several times in the past week without a jacket, and we’ve taken lots of "drives in the country” to see the trees blooming.
Yesterday, I even cleaned off the picnic table on our deck.
I love spring.
J is my least favorite letter - ![]()
We play lots of word type games, puzzles, cryptoquotes - all the word games in the newspaper that arrives here every morning.
When there's a j to help complete a word, it often stumps me. And when I get the J in a Scrabble game, I usually have it for a long time. Funny, but I just find it a difficult letter.
I'm glad my Mother didn't name me Janet.
Anybody else have a least favorite letter?
I've really tried, but I just don’t like golf.
I took 2 lessons, and decided that the sport was not for me. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I like to do things right. And in golf, there really isn’t a right. Or maybe I'm just missing something.

The best part of the whole experience was buying the new outfit.
Our cat, Smokey Joe, has funny eating habits. He’s about a year and a half or so old, and has lived with us for about 8 months.
He only eats dry cat food. And can’t be tempted with anything else - with one exception – I just recently found out that he likes to nibble on tiny pieces of cheese! ![]()
Have a great weekend!
We'll be taking appetizers to two family gatherings in the next two weeks. This is one of our favorites.

½ pound crab meat
½ pound imitation crab meat salad
Grated cheese – about 8ounces - (Don uses sharp cheddar)Mix together the crab meat and the crab meat salad. (The crab meat salad has enough seasonings and small cut up veggies to flavor the whole pound. Sometimes he adds a little extra mayonnaise).
At serving time: Line a microwaveable dish with taco chips.
Put a little crab meat on each taco chip, and a little grated cheddar cheese on top of that.
Put the plate into the microwave and microwave for about a minute, or long enough to melt the cheese. And get ready to make another plateful, because they go fast.

Just be very careful about what you do with that butt. Some officials are talking hefty fines over using Doylestown as an ashtray.

You've got another reason to kick the habit in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
More like a thousand reasons if Doylestown Township has her way.
"...you throw a butt out the window and someone behind you takes your plate and can identify you at a hearing you will be fined one thousand dollars."
