I'm going to be a little late posting this week. We just got news of our 3rd funeral in a week.
I'll be back.
I don’t take any pills except on the occasions that I opt for vitamins and “healthy” herbal stuff.
I can take a lot of pills at one time, but only if I don’t give it much thought. Once I think about it, I can’t do it.
Don and I were talking about pill taking this morning, and he’s the same way – can take a bunch if he doesn’t think about it first. Otherwise, gag
My question is, if you take several pills, do you take them one at a time,
or a whole bunch together? ![]()
I was looking through a cookbook for something new to do with a package of chicken from my freezer. I came upon this recipe, and actually had all of the ingredients on hand.
I made it, and served it over rice. I also served it with additional veggies (I love veggies), and some homemade cranberry sauce.
I didn’t serve it till the next day, and it was really great.

Crockpot Orange Chicken Leg Quarters![]()
4 chicken drumsticks and thighs, skin removed
1 cup green and/or red bell pepper strips
1/2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon molasses
1 tablespoon mustard
1 garlic clove
1 small onion, chopped
Also:
11 ounce can mandarin oranges
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 box frozen peas
4 or 5 mushrooms, sliced
Place chicken in slow cooker. Top with pepper strips. Combine broth, juice, ketchup, soy sauce, molasses, mustard, and garlic salt. Pour over chicken.
Cook on low 5-6 hours. Measure out 1 cup of cooking sauce. Put in saucepan and bring to boil. Drain oranges, reserving a little juice. Stir cornstarch into reserved juice. Add to boiling sauce in pan. Add peas to sauce and cook, stirring 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens and peas are warm. Stir in oranges. Arrange chicken pieces on platter of cooked rice, (I used brown rice) Pour sauce over chicken and rice.
I'll be taking a 1/2 day vacation today, and our company is closed on Monday for the holiday.

This U.S. holiday is celebrated in February to honor two of our greatest presidents, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. The holiday is celebrated in the United States on the third Monday in February.
Here's a little presidential trivia:
Who was the first president born in a hospital?
The answer is in the extended entry of this post.
It certainly was a surprise to me.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, our 39th president, was born at the Wise Clinic in Plains, Ga. on October 1, 1924, making him the first U.S. president to be born in a hospital.

Today I am taking a 1/2 day vacation, and that half day I will be working from home. How great is that?
Smokey Joe loves to help me when I work from home.
I love a telecommuting day.
We're planning a trip to the Michener Museum
to see the Daniel Garber exhibit.
Anyone else have weekend plans?
Well, it looks like football season is over after the rainy game yesterday. And the team that I was cheering for actually won. How great is that?
We went to see the game at a friends' house, and they served Chicken Chili. It was terrific. The recipe that I think he used can be found here.

And we took our ever popular "Those Little Crab Appetizers That Don Makes"
Have a great day!
Excuse me if I don't name any specific names today. The sp*mmers got me big time yesterday. That's the first time in a long time.
Have a great Sunday!
If you're a football fan and going to watch the Superbowl Game, I hope your team wins.
We'll be watching the game and eating lots of delicious food
with good friends.
According to Punxsutawney Phil, he has predicted that early spring is on the way.
I hope he’s right
Happy GroundHog Day! ![]()
