Happy Leap Year
Since I totally forgot to wish you all a happy Ground Hog Day, I thought I’d wish you a Happy Leap Year Day. I realize it is a day early, but if you’ve forgotten to get started on your preparations, this gives you a day to get started.

Jack Russell Terrier
Don’s friend was telling him the story his dog, a Jack Russell terrier, who was being walked in the park. A large hawk came down and grabbed him as prey.
Fortunately, the dog was wearing a little jacket (it was cold) and the hawk dropped him because he didn’t have a good hold - the little dog was wriggling to get loose.
The hawk came back around and went after the little dog again, and the dog attacked and killed the hawk.
Can you believe?

Lemon Deluxe Bars
It’s been a while since I posted a recipe, and Nef asked for this one, so I thought I’d share it.
Cut butter into mixture until it clings together.
Press into a greased 13x9x2” pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
4 beaten eggs
2 cups sugar
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Beat together eggs, sugar and lemon juice. Mix together flour and baking powder, then stir into egg mix.
Pour over lightly browned crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or more. Sprinkle with additional powdered sugar. Cool. Cut into bars or squares. Makes 30 bars.

Time to learn something new!
I used to learn lots of stuff at work (great company, lots of training), but have been doing the same process for a while now, and there hasn’t been any training available to me in a while, so I guess I’d better take action myself.
I have been using Photoshop for about 3 years now, and have recently come to the realization that what I can do, and what can be done by Photoshop are eons apart. So I bought a book today and am determined to learn a little. Graphics are my passion, so if I can learn how to actually use the software, I should come out way ahead.

Big Sister
As I mentioned in my last post, we had two babies born into our family last week. I have a picture of one of the babies and her big sister. And I’ll post the other baby’s picture as soon as I get one.

Way to Go Technology!!
We had two little baby girls born into our family this week. One little girl lives in Virginia, and the other little girl is here in Pennsylvania. A wonderful thing about the internet is that if the mothers of these two little girls would like, they can share stories and pictures of these babies every day. That few hundred miles just melts away.
With today’s families moving to all parts of the country and even the world, the internet is a wonderful invention. It is so much nicer and easier to send an email and a picture than to wait for a letter.
Blogging is even nicer. With a blog site, family and friends can share every day. See, you already know about our two new babies.
I’ll be sure to post pictures ASAP.
Babies are the greatest!

Mister, Our Outdoor Cat
Mister adopted us a lot of years ago, and is getting quite old. Her coat is tipped in silver these days. Rather pretty, I might say.
We’ve been feeding Mister twice a day in this cold weather, and giving her lots of fatty stuff. The thing she seems to enjoy the most, though, is the drinking water. Seems like she’s not getting enough of it elsewhere on these really cold and snowy days.
She looks similar to a barrel these days. I guess I’ve been feeding her too much.
But she spends her days looking into our front door, and I just feel sorry for her. I can’t let her in for several reasons, so I just keep feeding her.
Oh well, I’m sure she’ll slim down this summer.

Lay Offs
We had a few (not many) people laid off today in our building. It’s the first time I’ve ever had personal experience with this. I know these people.
It’s so upsetting to see this. And they probably didn’t do anything wrong. Just in the wrong place when the axe fell.
I was a wreck all afternoon thinking of these “business friends” And there’s nothing you can say or do.
What times we live in.
