July 30th - Happy Birthday Buzz!

BABY BUZZ
How about stopping by and wishing him a happy day.

Look What the Birds Planted
Just a little note about our garden. We have 2 shepherds hooks in the middle of our back yard (easy to see from the deck), and we have an assortment of bird feeders on those hooks.
Every year, Don leaves a fairly large unmowed oval around the hooks, and we wait to see what will happen. We usually have the most beautiful sunflower garden planted for us by our feathered friends.
Oh, and the cat in the foreground is Mister, our stray outdoor cat.
But that’s another story.

Parking
Talk about being set in one’s ways, I should win a prize.
I arrive early to work, and always park in the same spot. Today I came to work, and there was only 1 car parked in the lot, and it was in my spot!
I was in such a quandary I didn’t know what to do!
And I wanted to thank my blog friends and aquaintances who stopped by and wished me a happy birthday yesterday.
And it was - happy I mean.

Bread Wrapper Ties – interesting subject?
When you go to buy a loaf of bread, have you ever wondered which is the freshest loaf, so you “squeeze” for freshness or softness?
Did you know that bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week? Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Each day has a different color twist tie. They are: Monday = Blue, Tuesday = Green, Thursday = Red, Friday = White and Saturday = Yellow.
I thought this was interesting.
And possibly helpful.
Happy Shopping!
So if today was Thursday, you would want red twist tie; not white which is Fridays (almost a week old)!
The colors go alphabetically by color Blue- Green - Red - White - Yellow, Monday through Saturday.

The best weekend recipe ever
A recipe I’m dying to try.
I just found the best-sounding recipe in an old cookbook that I’ve seen in a long time.
This recipe should certainly appeal to those who don’t care much for the atmosphere in the kitchen.
Busy Day Meal in a Jiffy
1 pound Hamburger meat (frozen)
2 raw eggs
1 cup bread crumbs
Salt and pepper to taste.
Remove 1 pound frozen hamburger from freezer. While you’re waiting for this to thaw, crack 2 raw eggs into a medium size bowl. Add bread crumbs. Mix hamburger in well.
Feed to dog and go out to eat at your favorite restaurant.
I have other variations of this recipe
substituting tuna fish and cat.

I don’t like to fuss, but
Don and I started out on an evening walk in this terrible heat and humidity.
When I got outside, I said to him that the air quality wasn’t good. And then I realized that when we were kids, we didn’t even know air had quality. It was just air.
It was an awful walk, I might add, but now it’s over and we’re back in the air conditioned house recuperating.
Is this a global warming thing?

Hot enough for you?
I don’t know what the weather’s like where you live, but it sure is very warm and humid here in Bucks County PA.
And that’s the nicest way I can say it.

In a Quandry
Our neighbor went into a nursing home a couple of years back, and I really miss him - especially when I’m gardening.
He could be depended on to always let me know that what I was doing was wrong - even when it wasn’t.
Now, how do I know?
I really miss you Ed

Nameless visitor
Someone – who did not leave his/her name, came by my blogsite recently, and made a comment about my current post.
I’d like that person to know that they are under absolutely no obligation to read anything at my blogsite.
And I’d also like to do a little spelling correction – the word is stupid, not stu]id.
