Lipstick Plant

The person who waters our plants at work often gives me cuttings to root.

About a year and a half ago, she gave me 4 little sprigs of a “lipstick plant” It took what seemed like forever to root, and even longer to grow to any size at all, but here it is –

and here’s the very first flower.

It’s August

I’m 2 days late with the August calendar page.  Sorry to be so late.

I’m planning a big celebration on August 13, Lefthander’s day.

What a Wonderful Tradition

We had our annual birthday celebration with 2 other couples last Friday night. 

It’s kind of a birthday celebration (complete with gifts) and end of our major summer birthdays.  And we all have a bunch of them.

So far, we have always gone to the Cascade Lodge, which is situated on a hill overlooking the pond where they catch the trout that they serve for dinner. 

There’s also horses and deer in their fields. It’s just beautiful.

It was just wonderful – the food was good, and the company was even better.  Can’t wait till next year.
