Weekend Plans
We’ll be having company for dinner Saturday night. And I’m really looking forward to the visit!
And I’m hoping to go on a nice long blogwalk on Sunday.
How about you?
Have a great weekend!

football
Are you Ready for Some Football?
The word “genius” isn’t applicable in football.
A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein. –
“Our strength is that we don’t have any weaknesses.
Our weakness is that we don’t have any real strengths.”
“Not only is he ambidextrous,
but he can throw with either hand”.
And my personal favorite –
“Men, I want you just thinking of one word all season.
One word and one word only:
My favorite team is the DALLAS COWBOYS!
Not a real popular choice when you live in Philadelphia Eagles land.

Saturday Morning
Have a great weekend, everyone.
It’s a bit rainy and grey here, but we’re enjoying the day.
My car had to go in for a repair, and we’re driving a really nice loaner car.
Maybe we should take a nice long(ish) ride.
And maybe we should buy a new car.![]()

Mid September Holidays
September 19th was International Talk Like a Pirate Day, and Shiver me timbers! – I did!
September 20th is Punch Day. I’m just not sure which kind of punch we’re celebrating.
Well, whichever Punch Day we’re celebrating, have a great holiday!

Grandparents
I just read a blogger’s comments about the wonderful memories she had about her grandparents. How lucky. What I remember most about my grandparents wasn’t quite so wonderful.
My grandparents were a bit on the snooty side. Before our family (my parents, brother and I) would come for a visit, my Grandmother would put sheets over all the furniture. That way, we couldn’t ruin anything or get their furniture dirty.
I’m pretty sure they weren’t very fond of kids.
I’ve always thought that Grandparents should be kind of magic.

Easy Appetizer
We’re going to have company for dinner next weekend, and to start the evening, I’ll be making one of the easiest ever dips.
1 (8-ounce) jar any-style salsa
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
Mix together, refrigerate a couple of hours, and serve with tortilla chips, corn chips or crackers or veggies.
How quick and easy can you get?
And it really is good.

Free Gift
What is a “free gift”?
Aren’t all gifts free?
If you want a really free gift, email me your name and address, and I’ll send you one of the free calendars we got this summer. We’ve received about a dozen so far. And I’m not sure what we can do with that many calendars.
And I promise you, I won’t ask for anything in return.
I’ve tried to give them away once before, but I can’t even do that!
What good is a “free gift” that nobody wants?

Gracie
A long time ago, we adopted a beautiful little orange long-haired tiny cat and named her Gracie. We’ve had Gracie for a long time, and she never adapted to our home. She was either retarded or feral, and for all the years we had her, she was afraid. We have a large house, and a quiet household, and it just didn’t work for her.
Yesterday she woke us up in the middle of the night, and was terrified. We discovered this morning that she was blind. Her head was at a funny angle and she couldn’t see a thing. She was terrified. I assume she had a stroke.
We buried her in our back yard beneath the big trees.

September
I’m back on line and so happy that my computer is working again. It only took a few days and a few dollars, and it seems like everything is working again.
If you’d like to find an extra holiday or two to celebrate, I’ve posted a September calendar with some unusual holidays.
And I hope you can find an unusual holiday or two to celebrate.
I’m thinking about having a cream-filled donut on the 14th.

I certainly missed the opportunity to visit your blogs.
