A change in the weather

image

Last evening started out so nice.  Don and I sat out on the deck having a glass of wine while dinner was cooking, and then…the sky got dark and the rains came!

We had a rain/hail storm.

At least it was nice enough to sit out on the deck earlier.
First time this year.

MY LITTLE FRIEND SMOKEYJOE

Smokey Joe wanted me to get up the other morning, and all 18 pounds of him stood about an inch from my ear, and he meowed, and was it loud!
So, being as well trained as I am, I got up and fixed his breakfast.

image

And as I was fixing my breakfast, I saw him - fast asleep!

Once he got me up, his job was over.

Today is Mother’s Day in the UK.

In 1912, Anna Jarvis trademarked the phrases “second Sunday in May” and “Mother’s Day”, and created the Mother’s Day International Association.

Have a happy day to all of you who are celebrating this occassion.
And have a happy day to the rest of us. image

Tomorrow - another day to celebrate UPDATE

The First Day of Spring is tomorrow!  Finally.
Spring has almost sprung, and the first day of spring, or the Spring Equinox, falls on Friday March 20th, 2009.

The Vernal Equinox is one of the four great seasonal changes every year.
Day and night are equal, and the changing weather can lift the spirits of young—and old—alike!

image

Have a great day.  We’ll be having rain today - but a sunny day is predicted for tomorrow.

We have snow on the first day of spring!

Good weather ahead

imageThe weather reporters predict 65 degrees in Bucks County Pennsylvania today.
That sounds like spring to me.
I’m going out this afternoon and plant carrots and onions.

Thanks Don, for tilling my garden last weekend.

I’ve had a bit of trouble with Spa..ers this week, and had to close my comments - even on my most recent post.

I have an account with this group

and would like to be my “friend”, please let me know.

Cas
In case you didn’t notice, I tried not to include any words that would invite my unwelcome friends.  Those guys make me so angry.

Smokey Joe

image Just a little health report on our cat, Smokey Joe.

We just returned from the vet, and he was pronounced healthy.
And he received two shots, which he didn’t seem to mind at all.
Theoretically, we won’t be going back to see the vet till March, 2011.

That would be so nice.

Have a nice weekend!

“The Rest of the Story”

Paul Harvey, 90, a Chicago-based radio broadcaster whose authoritative baritone voice and distinctive staccato delivery
attracted millions of daily listeners for more than half a century, died Feb. 28 in Phoenix.

image

Paul Harvey was the voice of the American heartland, offering to millions his trademark greeting:
“Hello Americans! This is Paul Harvey. Stand by! For news!”

He will certainly be missed
