One more ski trip
Don and I went off on a 3rd ski trip of the season yesterday. The weather was pretty mild, but the skiing conditions were pretty good.
Don doesn’t like spring skiing, and It’s getting so mild here, that unless there’s a big cold spell coming up,
Pennsylvania skiing might be nearing the end for us for the season
It’s raining here today - I’m glad we went yesterday.
I hope the weather’s better where you are.

It’s Actually Snowing Here
Today is the first actual “snow day” here in Bucks County, PA.
We have two or three inches of snow, and it’s just beautiful.
There’s even enough to build a snowman.
I’m glad I don’t have to go out in the car today. I don’t like driving in snow.

3 Deer
As I was passing by the school about 2 blocks from our house, there were 3 deer, mom and two young ones standing by the side of the road just in front of me.
They stared, and I stared for a good while, then they all ran off together to the woods on the other side of the school.

I lost a bit of data
I changed from my pc to my new iMAC this weekend. In the process, I’ve lost some of your blog addresses.
If you don’t mind, please stop by to say hello, so I can put you back onto my blog address list.

Thanks,
By the way, aside from losing a bit of data, I think that my new MAC is awesome!

Tasty Veggie
I love winter squash - all varieties. We recently bought an acorn squash and there was a sticker with a recipe stuck to the side of the squash. It sounded good, so I tried it.
If you happen to like acorn squash, I think you’ll find this really good. This recipe will make it off the sticker and into my recipe collection.
Acorn Squash
Cut the squash in half, remove seeds and strings.
Place both halves upside down in a pan with 1/4 inch of hot water.
Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes.
Turn squash over, sprinkle lightlywith salt (optional).
Add 1 tablespoon orange marmalade and 1 teaspoon butter, melted and mixed together. (I used a little more of both)
Spoon mixture over the edge of the squash halves. Place under a broiler for five minutes or until lightly browned.
Have a great weekend - We’re expecting warmer weather today, and back to cold winter tomorrow. I intend to enjoy today.

Have a Happy Valentine’s Day
Just a few facts about this most important day -
- Cupid was the god of love in Roman mythology.
- It was commonly believed that Cupid was the son of Venus - the Roman goddess of love
- The ancient Romans often depicted Cupid as winged child or baby who carried a bow and quiver full of arrows. Indeed, the Roman poet Ovid seems to delight in portraying Cupid as a willful and capricious child in many of his poems from the Amores and the Art of Love.
- One of the most memorable myths about Cupid involves his relationship with the beautiful woman named Psyche. The tale of Cupid and Psyche is told in the Metamorphoses of Apuleius.

Crazy winter weather
Two days ago, Don and I went on a ski trip here in Pennsylvania. The temperature was 5 degrees, and it was cold!
Yesterday, it snowed all day,
and today they’re predicting a high of 54 degrees.

My New Toy
Well, I finally did it. Don and I went out and bought one of these last week. It’s great, but I’ve got lots to learn.
My old pc will be Don’s now, and in his office upstairs. But for now, they are both side-by-side on my crowded desk.
I used one many years ago, but this one is very different.
It’s really luck for me that there are so many experts in my family.
Wish me luck!

A nice day for a walk
Here in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the weather prediction is for 70 degrees today.
That’s very unusual for February.
It sounds like a really nice day to take a walk. No treadmill today, thank you.
I’m going to walk outside, and not wear a super heavy jacket.
YES!!

Those Little Seafood Crab Appetizers that Don Makes
It’s almost Super Bowl time! We’ll be going to a Superbowl party with some of our favorite people. We’ll be taking an appetizer for the occassion. It seems like everyone likes these little crab appies. Don has been making them for years.
Those Little Seafood Crab Appetizers that Don Makes
1 pound crab meat
1 pound imitation crab meat salad
Grated cheese about 8ounces - (Don uses sharp cheddar)
Make ahead if you want to -Mix together the crab meat and the crab meat salad. (The crab meat salad has enough seasonings and small cut up veggies to flavor the whole pound. Sometimes he adds a little extra mayonnaise).
At serving time: Line a microwaveable dish with taco chips.
Put a little crab meat on each taco chip, and a little grated cheddar cheese on top of that.
Put the plate into the microwave and microwave for about a minute, or long enough to melt the cheese.
And get ready to make another plateful, because they go fast.
Go Giants!!
