A day to respect is looming

Don mailed our taxes this morning.
We owed a lot of money this year,
and he waited till the last week to mail the checks.

Hopefully next year, we won’t owe so much.

I hope you all were luckier than we were.
And I hope you got some money back.

I’d rather come out even. If you get money back that means you paid in too much and the government had your money instead of you. The government doesn’t pay you interest on that money but if it had stayed in your bank account it would have gotten interest.

Got some $$ back this year, but just sent another big check to uncle sam… my husband is considered self-employed (he’s a pastor) so we pay quarterly estimated taxes. Fun.

We will have to file for an extension. My poor hubby is just SICK because he left his laptop computer briefcase laying outside the car in the airport parking lot. It happened to have all our tax stuff prepared in it as well as his computer, and when he remembered he left it, he rushed back, but by then someone had stolen it. No one turned it in, and so far, we’ve gotten no calls about anyone finding anything from it.
Taxes are enough to deal with, and now THIS!!

Isn’t it great when you owe the Government a lot of money? That means that you had a great year, and the politicians want a kickback on your success. It is just like being a part of the Washington, D.C. establishment. If you make enough money even the President will invite you to dinner at the White House, and for a few extra bucks you can sleep in Abraham Lincoln’s room. People have been having sex there since 1863.

We paid em heaps but got a little change back. I’ll all done with all my clients but one who is always late so I’ll send her extension in tomorrow, or Tuesday.
