Baby Geese

Canada Geese and Their Very Young Goslings

I saw the first of the Canada Geese with their babies today.  I love seeing the babies in the spring.

A lot of people around here (SE Pennsylvania) think these geese are a nuisance.  I just think they’re beautiful.  I have noticed in the past few years that they don’t fly south from here. They don’t really even fly in their v-formation any more.  Seems like they’ve lost some of their natural instincts..

We have some just a bit down the road from the house. I love to see them fly over in formation.

They’re beautiful. And I’m sure there are many days that wild creatures think humans are “just a nuisance.” smile

I always get the “warm fuzzies” when I see all the animal and bird babies every spring. It is a wonderful time of the year.

I am in Missouri and have never saw them.  I am sure they are cute to watch.

When I was down in PA, I was surprised to see so many Canada geese - even on the grass between the busy highways! Up here, they are little less domesticated. They stick to farmers’ fields, rivers and bays.

Just LOOK at those adorable little fuzzballs!
I’d like to hold one of those, but I think I’d get hissed and honked at by momma & daddy.

I hope you had a nice Mother’s Day.

The babies are adorable. And the parents look proud!

I admit, they are cute but…

They are a problem around here. They are the reason I lost power the other day, one of them flew into the power lines. They are also nesting in inconvenient places, such as store fronts. Ever try to get past a nesting goose, it’s not easy!
