Brunch - my favorite meal

Don and I went for brunch last Sunday at the Valley Green Inn – this is the second time we’ve been there, but not the last.
Both times we were lucky enough to be able to eat outdoors on their porch, and the brunch was absolutely delicious.
I had brie stuffed French toast (and they were kind enough to post the recipe on their website It was so good.
Sorry to say there was so much I couldn’t finish it, but it was delicious.
Don had a lobster, shrimp, scallop hash with 2 poached eggs on top.  It was also delicious.

The Valley Green Inn restaurant is located the Wissahickon Valley of Fairmount Park in the City of Philadelphia.
The inviting atmosphere of Philadelphia’s last remaining roadhouse, is complimented by the romantic setting of the Wissahickon creek, and the valley in which it’s cradled.
Literally, one of the best kept secrets, waiting to be found in the bustling metropolis of America’s birthplace, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
After brunch, we walked a couple of miles on one of their walking paths.  It was so beautiful.  Lots of people go there to train, compete, tone up, or just walk.

I’ll have to keep this place in mind when we go to visit my husband’s sister. She lives in Wyncote.

I sure wish I would have known about this place when I lived in Philly for 8 months awhile back.
It sounds like my kind of place.
I love good food in a lovely atmosphere, and this sounds like both.

I wasn’t hungry before, but now I am.  The picture you used as an illustration, is it a painting? Who painted it? It looks familiar

I can never walk to my car after a big breakfast, let alone walk a path.  I’m not worthy!!

A brunch in Pennsylvania Dutch country sounds delicious, as long as they have scrapple too.

I looked through their menu. Yummmmm.
I remember when you wrote about it last time, thinking “Ohhh this looks too good.”
We are contemplating a weekend in Philadelphia later this month. It would be fun to be able to go there. We will see.
