Ed McMahon dies at 86

I don’t remember a time in television when there wasn’t Ed McMahon.
He had such a long career.

Yeah, he was one of those guys who was just always there...since I can remember. When I heard he passed away yesterday it kind of jolted me...as it does with with someone you’ve grown up knowing.

My memory of him was that he always laughed at Johnny’s jokes, no matter if they were bad or unfunny.  Carson couldn’t have asked for a better second banana.

Ed McMahon, whose nearly three decades as Johnny Carson’s sidekick on ‘The Tonight Show’ and innumerable appearances as television pitchman and master of ceremonies made him one of the medium’s most ubiquitous figures, died yesterday microsoft test. He was 86. Mr. McMahon died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, MSNBC reported, citing his agent, Howard Bragman. The cause of death was not immediately announced
