Resume
In the spirit of being helpful, the company that I worked for gave me 3 months of service
with a company who helps with resumes and interviewing skills, and all that stuff.
My resume has been updated, and they will make 25 copies for me which I will pick up this Friday. It looks great.
Now I just have to decide if I want to file them, or distribute them.
Staying home is something I really enjoy.![]()
Stay home! we have 1028 to go and would love to be where you are now! Paper the bathroom with your resume!
If you don’t absolutely HAVE to work I’d definitely say “Stay home”. There is so much stuff you can do if you get bored, volunteering etc. and do stuff you actually enjoy at your own pace.
Or work part-time from home! But enjoy what you love!
I echo your readers’ sentiments - if you don’t need to work why not stay home? I have to stay home now because of health reasons but I am enjoying it - and I save money just by being here. I am never bored - and I love the fact that I can concentrate on home and family life with more energy.
If possible, do what you enjoy. That’s my vote.
I was laid off three years ago Cas...and so much has happened in those three years. I never seriously looked for work because too much was happening in my life...and it took priority. Today I work on my computer everyday for BlogHer, The Women’s Network...which is my daughter’s company. Honestly, I don’t think I could possibly go to work outside my home anymore. I don’t know how I took the every day grind of it before....but, there are good and bad aspects to everything.
I was lucky enough to benefit from a course about resumes, letters of application and interviews, we had a great time, especially playing interviews.
I’d say stay at home for now, perhaps in a few months you might change your mind. Enjoy it while you can!
This would be a hard decision. I would so love to be able to hang up my own working shoes. It would certainly be very tempting to stay at home if I could.
